Dr.
Moore received his bachelor’s degree
from Allegheny College and his MD
from University of Pittsburgh School
of Medicine. He is board-certified
in internal medicine, medical
oncology and hematology. After
completing a postdoctoral fellowship
at the Ohio State University, Dr.
Moore joined the National Cancer
Institute as a senior investigator
in the Clinical Investigations
Branch and later at the
Investigational Drug Branch of the
Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program
(CTEP). During his 5 years at NCI,
he was responsible for drug
development for a number of agents
including Topoisomerase I
inhibitors. He was also the project
officer for the preclinical
chemotherapy combination project
while at CTEP. After his tenure at
NCI, he returned to Ohio to join a
hematology/oncology private
practice, which is very active in
investigational trials.
Dr. Moore is an active member of
American Society of Clinical
Oncology (ASCO) and American Society
of Hematology (ASH) as well as the
American College of Physicians and
the American Medical Association.
Dr. Moore has also been the Director
of Palliative Care Service at Grant
Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio
since 1996. Dr. Moore has more than
20 publications, many of which focus
on Phase I-II trials of new agents
as well as quality of life issues in
cancer patients.
