Dr Mills, started his CRO career with Drug Development Scotland in 1987 where he had responsibility for analytical method development and validation and helped to establish the unit’s GLP compliance programme. After completing his doctorate in Bio Analysis in 1996, he headed a project in the Autism Research Unit at the University of Sunderland. In 1997 he returned to the regulated pharmaceutical research industry and after spells at both Quintiles and GlaxoWellcome he joined a leading Phase 1 CRO, DDS Medicines Research as Head of Analytical Services.

Following a MBO in 2005, Dr Mills was appointed to the role of Director of Support Services where he was responsible for QA, laboratory services, data management, vendor selection, Pharmacy and IT. On his subsequent promotion to Director of Operations, Dr Mills was additionally responsible for clinical operations and project management and in this position was a member of the Senior Executive and Board of Directors.

In 2008, Dr Mills joined Veeda Clinical Research as Chief Scientific Officer, where he is responsible for advising the company on a wide range of analytical, study management and regulatory issues.

He has several publications on the subjects of organic and analytical chemistry resulting from his academic research and has presented at major academic and industry oriented seminars worldwide over the course of his career which has spanned over 20 years.
