The UK Unit has an
experimental medicine suite of 9 beds, all
fully monitored and with up to three channel
invasive capability. In addition, we have
four beds equipped with instrumentation
for the monitoring of cardiac output. All
cardiovascular data is collected and stored
on computer disc and analysis might include
beat-beat variability, continuous blood
pressure from arterial cannulae and derived
parameters. We have high quality digital
electrocardiography (MAC5000) and our own
GE MUSE which enables us to perform TQT
studies to FDA format. Other facilities
in experimental medicine include tilt-table
and exercise testing. We have special facilities
for the study of oxygen delivery and the
microcirculation. |
